TV advertising could well be within your reach soon
This short experiment presented by Seth Stevenson demonstrates that soon, TV advertising could be within reach of every small to medium sized business. As Seth explains in the video you won't be showing your ads on prime-time soon.
Another point to consider is that nearly all the TV networks that are available are US only, you can choose to show your ad on CNN. So unless you're running affiliate deals in the US, this wouldn't really be of interest.
Note that it shows ads accross the entire US, no geo-targeting is available. But you can choose off-peak, low cost hours and set bids.
Analytics tracking is not very accurate when you're used to an internet marketing perspective in that you can only see total visitors and bid-price. Conversion tracking would have to come from setting up a unique website (that is not indexed by Google I reckon) and countint the results from that. But for the media buyers that are only used to shots-in-the-dark it probably means the dawn of a new era - a new era in accountablity! Shudder.
Nevertheless, it's still pretty amazing. See Seth's experiment here
