Real-World SEO Tactic #3: Do-Follow Blog commenting
Leaving a comment and joining the conversation is what every blogger wants you to do.
And, sure enough, if you check your Google Webmaster account, or MajesticSEO account, you will see that many blog-comments you make get indexed by Google.
Here's how to do this:
- you can use Do-Follow diver to seek out blogs that relate to your market or niche
- I personally never try and 'trick' the blogger by entereing keywords in the Name field - I just use my own name and create a relationship with the blogger. The link still has power and it will be less likely to get taken down.
- enter your website in the URL box
- join the conversation and leave a comment
This may not get you anchor-text links, but definitely will get you Authority-links (links that build your 'authority' to rank well in Google).
Two other resources that will find releevant Blogs for you are:
When you post relevant comments you’ll not only get a link coming back to your site but also targeted traffic will come over coming over as well because you are 'mingling with the right crowd'. It can gently boost your btob lead generation
If however, you don't find any blog to your liking with the above tools, then you can always use the advanced search option in Google itself. You do this with these search strings:
“keywords” + “post comment” -”comments closed”
“keywords” +blog + dofollow – “comments closed”
“keywords” +comments +dofollow -”comments closed”
In effect this means you type in teh following in the Google search bar:
“cooking, chef, gourmet” +blog + dofollow – “comments closed”
(include all the parentheses " " and the plus + signs)
