SEO Tactic: Forum Commenting
Using big-boards.com
(or anywhere you know of to find niche bulletin-boards in your market) and look for your niche market, then go to that forum. Look around to make sure that they allow links in the signature of the person making the post.
Register to become a member of that discussion forum. Once you have an active account, login and setup your profile for your account. See if you can go ahead and setup your signature. Some forums require you to meet certain requirements like make a minimum number of posts before you can have a signature appear on your posts.
Find someplace to make your first post – on many boards there is a newcomers area. When you make your post check the setting to select to include your signature on your post if possible. Spend some time looking around to find a page with lots of posts. Make 5 or 10 or so relevant posts on various different threads. Then make some notes of the website, your username and password, and the date you made your posts.
Next, setup a reminder on your calendar to go back to the website later after your posts are buried – maybe a week or more. Then go back in and login and modify your profile so that your signature has your keyword and hyperlink to your website in it. This will then update in your posts that you made before.
Sometimes this is not within the rules of the forum, so be smart and do your best to let your posts get buried in an old thread that few people are reading down the road. Then don’t post to that forum again. This keeps your link under the radar. Repeat on as many relevant and authority sites with forums.
